ASTM A53, A105, A333 AND OTHER SPECIFICATIONS

ASTM specifications are defined by the American Society for Testing and Measurements (ASTM). ASTM specifications are published to help develop a standard for a wide range of products, materials, systems, and services. These specifications are updated fairly often, so it is important to reference only the most up-to-date specifications.
ASTM A53, A105, A333 AND OTHER SPECIFICATIONS

ASTM A105
A 105 is a steel specification that covers components such as valves, flanges, and fittings. The material is forged carbon steel. This rating approves the components for environments where the temperature is higher than normal. Pressure systems are a common place to find steel with this specification. Don’t confuse it with ASTM a106, ASTM a106 grade b, ASTM a106 grade c.
ASTM A120
ASTM A120 has been replaced by the ASTM A53 specification. A120 was withdrawn in 1987.

ASTM A320
A320 / A320M – 17b is a specification for alloy steel and stainless steel bolting, designed for low temperature service. This specification covers alloy steel bolting materials and components used in pressure vessels, valves, fittings and flanges for low temperature service. There are several grades for this specification.
ASTM A333
A333 / A333M -16 is a pipe specification for nominal (average) wall seamless and welded carbon and alloy steel pipe designed for low temperature uses. The A333 specification includes several grades of ferritic steel.
ASTM A335
A335 / A335M – 18 is a specification for seamless ferritic alloy steel pipe intended for use in high temperature service. This pipe is appropriate for fusion welding, as well as forming operations, like bending and flanging, There are several grades for the A335 specification.
ASTM A350
According to the ASTM, A350 / A350M – 17 is pipe specification covering carbon and low alloy steel forgings. This specification pertains to carbon and low alloy steel forged or ring-rolled flanges, forged fittings and valves, requiring notch toughness testing and intended for low temperature service. There are several grades and no size limitations for this specification, and common companion specifications include A-333 amd A-420.
ASTM A358
A358 / A358 – 15 is a pipe specification for electric fusion-welded austenitic chromium-nickel alloy steel pipe. This pipe is typically used for corrosive, high temperature service and/or general applications.
ASTM A369
A369 / A369M – 18 is a standard specification for carbon and ferritic alloy steel, forged and bored for high temperature service. This specification covers several grades. A369 covers heavy-wall carbon and alloy steel pipe created from turned and bored forgings and designed for high-temperature service.
ASTM A376
A376 / A376M – 17 is a standard specification for seamless austenitic steel pipe intended for central station service and high temperature service. A376 pipe may be hot finished or cold finished, followed by a finishing treatment. Five H grades and two nitrogen grades are covered in this specification.
ASTM A381
A381 – 96(2012) is a pipe standard for double submerged arc-welded steel pipe, designed for high pressure transmission systems. Pipe ordered to this specification is intended for such operations as bending, corrugating and flanging (vastoning).
ASTM A500
A500 / A500M – 18 is a specification published by the ASTM for cold-formed welded and seamless carbon steel structural tubing in round, square and rectangular shapes, as well as special shapes. These structural tubing are used for general structural applications and for welded, bolted and riveted construction of buildings and bridges.
ASTM A501
A501/ A501M – 14 covers black and hot-dipped galvanized hot formed welded and seamless carbon steel in round, square, rectangular and special shapes. Like the A500 specification, A500 are structural tubing used for general structural applications and for welded, bolted and riveted construction of buildings and bridges.
ASTM A523
A523 – 96(2012) applies to plain end seamless and electric resistance-welded steel pipe, meant for high-pressure electric cable conduit. Only grades A and B are permitted.
ASTM A524
A524 – 17 is a pipe specification covering seamless carbon steel pipe intended for atmospheric and lower temperature service.
ASTM A530
A530 / A530M – 12 covers the general requirements for specialized carbon and alloy steel pipe.
ASTM A572
A572 / A572M -18 is a standard for high-strength low-alloy Columbium-Vanadium structural steel, covering five grades of high-strength, low alloy structural steel shapes, plates, bars and sheet pilings. Some grades are applied to riveted or bolted bridge constructions, whiles some are used for other riveted, bolted or welded construction applications. In applications where notch toughness is critical, the purchaser and producer must negotiate the notch toughness requirements.
ASTM A587
A587 – 96(2012) is a standard specification for electric-resistance-welded (ERW) , low-carbon steel manufactured for use as process lines in the chemical industry. A587 pipe are suitable for severe forming operations involving flanging in all sizes and bending to close radii, up to and including NPS 4.
